980 BILLION FCfa Needed To Update Electricity Network Grid In Cameroon

 The Society of national transport and Electricity in Cameroon( Sonatrel ) is on its way to launch a strenghtening programme to update the National Electricity Network Grid in the country. The Minister of Energy and Water, Mr Basile Atangana Kouna, revealed in an interview to the pro-government daily.
It is believed that the Cameroon government is seeking financial worth of up to 940 Billion FCfa. In order to complete this programme, part of the finalising is being done right now through the IRBD branch of the World Bank, hence leads to a loan of USD 325 Million (approximately180 Billion FCfa)
Minister Atangana Kouna highlighted.Several other international lenders are lined up for the financing of this program for which Sonatrel will benefit from the expertise of the French company RTE. These are Exim Bank China, Société Générale, Exim Bank India, AfDB and BDEAC, or the Chinese bank ICBC and Deutsch Bank of Spain, Basile Atangana Kouna indicates.

Woman Jailed For Life For Pouring Acid On Husband

   

                           


The 36-year old Vernicia Ruguru was yesterday, September 9, found guilty and sentenced to life imprisonment for burning her husband, Patrick Njue with acid on July 16, 2012 in Embu, Kenya.

Vernicia claimed she did what she did in self defence, after her husband trid to splash the acid on her. The principal magistrate dismissed the claim stating that she would have sustained some injuries if that was the case.The defendant is said to have prepared the children for school on the day of the incident, completed her  house chores, the later walked into their bedroom where Patrick was lying in bed, and splashed acid on him. She then locked the door and escaped only for the neighbours to hear screams from the house, before coming to Njue's rescue.

The evidence in court proved that Vernicia, on hearing that her husband was still alive rushed to the hospital were her husband was admitted in an attempt to finish her mission. She was sentenced to life in prison but was granted 14 days to appeal the judgement.      

Tumour Weighing 18kg Removed From 17-year-old girls Stomach!!

             

                           


A 17 year old local girl was admitted to the hospital after she was experiencing severe pain and 18-kg tumour was removed from her abdomen by Saudi doctors.The image scan showed the mass measuring 30 by 25cm, spread from the upper abdomen down to the pelvis.

"It weighed 18 kg, almost a third of the girls weight and caused sharp pain to her.The tumour was removed suceesfully without any complications to the patient." Dr. Hilal Al Malki, a doctor at the hospital revealved.

Doctors successfully seperated conjoined 11-month-old twin girls in an operation at Ohio National Children's Hospital. They were said to be born attached to the pelvic and hip region.The twin girls named Acen and Apio were recovering at the childrens hospital after the long procedure which lasted 16 hours last Thursday.
